We'll All Be Old One Day !

The match report below covers Saturdays match on the Sumners Pond match Lake. However, it didn’t mention the following bit !

Having drawn peg 3, Seventy two year old Don Garnish set about breaking out his peg (shown above) and after quite a bit of puffing and wheezing, plus a bit of scooping with a landing net, soon had a lovely clear channel to fish. Unfortunately when I wandered round to speak to Marcus Page and Ian Chatfield on pegs 4 and 5, I noticed that Peg 3 was actually one peg to Don’s left and he had cut out a swim that wasn’t even pegged !

Being the season of goodwill and all that, we didn’t have the heart to make him move and he went on to catch 8-6-0 of roach - not bad for an Old Boy !
