One of the benefits of my job with BT at the moment is that I work 8am-6pm four days a week and have every Wednesday off. Fortunately a number of other anglers that I know also don’t work Wednesdays for a variety of reasons so we all go match fishing !
Just lately we have started running a few Wednesday matches at Sumners Pond near Horsham (some of which are reported on below), which I have now given the title of “OAP, Skivers and General Layabouts matches”.
However, this week for the first time in over a year, I had to attend a training course all week which meant I had to miss Wednesdays match. As you can imagine, this amused most of the usual Wednesday attendees greatly and Don Garnish even rang me from the draw to tell me how much they were all missing me !
Anyway, to cut a long story short, There were only 12 anglers fishing this week and with only the best pegs in, it was always likely that the best angler would win…………….. and he did !

Nest Sunday I have been conned into fishing for Leatherhead DAS in the Surrey Winter League at Gold Valley and to be honest, with the way it fished Sunday and having seen the weather forecast, I am not really looking forward to it.
Come back Monday to see what happened.
